Atlantic City, NJ. – AQUA Pools & Spas won the prestigious Gordon W. Rudd “Best in Show” Award along with three other Pools of Distinction Awards during the 2013 Association of Pool & Spa Professionals’ Gordon W. Rudd Awards of Excellence ceremony held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Easton, Maryland based company received the Gordon W. Rudd Award for its installation of a custom vanishing edge swimming pool in Stevensville, Maryland. The infinity pool features a negative edge that frames a stunning view of the Chesapeake Bay and showcases matching copper fire bowls, multiple water features, a Pebble Sheen interior finish, and LED lighting.
This is the second time AQUA has been honored with the prestigious Gordon W. Rudd “Best in Show” award. AQUA is the only pool builder on the Eastern Shore of Maryland to have ever earned the honor. AQUA also received a Gold Award in the Residential Concrete Category, a Bronze Award in the Lap/Exercise Category, and a Bronze Award in the Residential Pool Restoration Category. “Being recognized by our industry peers with the “Best in Show” award reflects upon our designers’ and craftsmen’s abilities to create beautiful custom pools and hot tubs” says Dan Bridges, owner of AQUA. “It was a true honor to win all four awards.”
The Gordon W. Rudd Awards of Excellence, presented annually, recognize and reward the most beautiful and creative installation of pools and hot tubs across the Region 2 area which include Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. Gordon W. Rudd was a pool industry pioneer whose many career accolades include building the White House pool for President Gerald Ford. After his passing in 1991, an award was named in his honor as the “Best In Show” for the Region 2 Design Awards
